Whiplash injuries
Whiplash injuries are injuries to the cervical spine
caused by the neck being snapped back and forth. This type of injury occurs frequently as
a result of motor vehicle accidents.
Whiplash injuries can be very painful and slow to
heal. Victims complain of pain and stiffness in the neck and upper back, headaches, and
difficulty sleeping. In more serious cases, there may be related injuries to the jaw and
lower back.
Whiplash injuries can be very frustrating because
they are "soft tissue" injuries and do not show up on x rays.
